At its last meeting, Microsoft announced that Windows 10 will be a free upgrade for users of Windows 7 and Windows 8 systems once the new operating system releases.
This is exactly what Terry Myerson, executive vice president of the Operating Systems Group, said : "once a Windows device is upgraded to Windows 10, we will continue to keep it current for the supported lifetime of the device – at no additional charge."
For those who want to discover Windows 10, know that a beta version is available and it's possible to download it. However, it's advisable to install it on a PC other than the one you use for work or pleasure, because it's not a final version and stability is not always guaranteed.
